    Cleaning any surface normally requires a large quantity of water, to remove any form of moss, algae, lichen caused by natural elements over a long period of time. Living in a water scares country with limited access to water, a clever alternative is used in the form of a soft wash with specially formulated compounds and 100% safe to use on any surface.

    • Founder Ronnie Ackerman passion for preservation of all mechanical machinery and the upkeep structural maintenance in the construction industry began at a very young age when he started his apprenticeship with Transnet in the early 70s.

      Ronnie worked 40 loyal years for the parastatal, as a highly skilled professional but felt he needed more exposure therefore decided to further his expertise into the African continent. Having worked on numerous international projects in countries such as Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique and the DRC for 10 long years and away from home, he chose to end his expat career and start his own business with the help of his son Justin. Construction was always a part time hobby which he then quickly turned into a full-time business. During this new venture Ronnie and his son completed numerous residential houses but Ronnie developed a particular interest in the preparation of painting, waterproofing and general maintenance of roof structures. Always looking for better solutions and staying abreast of new technology and techniques, Ronnie founded We Clean Roofs in 2010.

      Today 11 years later, Ronnie and the team has built up a well-established business with the help of a loyal client base in the Port Elizabeth CBD. WCR workmanship is proof of the success the business enjoys with the support it receives from its current and new customer base. WCR constantly strives for improvement in their service and product offering to ensure the client receives value for money and longevity on any work completed.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    What is the difference between Softwash cleaning and Pressure cleaning?
    Softwash cleaning makes use of a special formulated eco-friendly mixture softly sprayed or brushed on where High Pressure Cleaning is the use of a high pressure water spray machine. Both cleaning methods is used to remove loose paint, algae, lichen, mold, grime, dust, etc. from surfaces and objects such as roofs, gutters, buildings, paving, decking and concrete.
    Which cleaning method is better, Softwash cleaning or High-pressure cleaning?
    Various factors must be considered first before you make your decision, type of surface, degree of cleaning required and where the area is situated. WCR will give you the best advice to preserve your property and garden against any damages whilst cleaning your surface.
    Are softwash chemicals harmful to me, pets, and plants?
    Being the business for over 11 years we have developed a unique formula and technique applied that is both safe for your home, business, or workplace. Depending on the surface cleaned we do recycle most of our product back and re-wash the surface with clean water.
    Are Softwash harmful to paint surfaces?
    WCR unique formulated mix can be applied to any painted surface. We do recommend you consult with us, to establish the age of the painted surface. Kindly note: Curing time is necessary for newly painted surfaces.
    Water usage for Softwash or Pressure cleaning?
    WCR will transport rain harvested or recycled tank water to your house or premises to clean the required surface. As we live in a water scarce country the exact amount of recycled water is used at time of cleaning.
    Is there a difference in cost for Softwash and Pressure cleaning?

    In most instances it will depend on the client preference. Soft wash is a cleaner process of cleaning surfaces, where Pressure cleaning do require a larger off spray surface to be cleaned afterwards.
